A picture tells the story.
Last year, on the day before Mardis Gras, I got my nose pierced. This year, I was still single and still in a crazy period of my life- so I got another piercing. Nothing on the ear is a very big deal (except maybe the tragus, which I seriously considered, but decided against), but it was still fun and satisfying. Scott (at Iron Age in the Loop) was wonderful as usual. I wouldn't recommend getting a piercing done anywhere else by anyone else. It's all about Scott. Despite his greatness, it still hurts. I mean... there's no getting around that. I'm pretty happy with it. I think I may have wanted it just a little lower, but the phone will interfere with it less as is. Yay.
Hey- I am living up this time of my life. There's no time to spare. It's precious.
Dude- when you take a picture just of your ear... it looks HUGE! LOL.
Posted by kristen at February 7, 2005 09:40 AM | TrackBackI don't feel that getting your ear/cartilage pierced is necessarily all that crazy. I've always thought those were cool; had one once myself, but it hurt too much.
Besides, I never manage to even remember to wear earrings.
Very cool!
Posted by: tanya at February 7, 2005 10:45 AMBe patient---my cartilage piercing gave me problems for years...infections, pain, etc. but (knock on wood) I haven't had any trouble in the last year.
Posted by: Kathie at February 7, 2005 02:08 PMYears? Uh- that's not v. encouraging. LOL.
I think everyone just has a different healing experience, although these upper ear ones seem to be more irritating in general. I have friends who have one with no issues and other friends who've had one and hated it.
I'm not too worried yet. Of course it hurts- I just got it on Friday. And it's by no means unbearable. Also, I had no issues with my nose piercing. It hardly hurt and wasn't very sore for very long. Here's hoping!
I have two piercings -- one in each earlobe -- and I like them so much I'm just going to stay with those two, thanks. Congrats on the new one though!

:D!
Posted by: B-Rist at February 7, 2005 08:21 PMDid you tell your mamacita about my new jewelry? I haven't mentioned it to anyone en la familia. As for your nose... well... I think your mom would kill me if I actually took you to get it pierced. Unless of course, she knows all about it. But yes, if I had a choice of who would do it, it would be Scott.
Posted by: Kristen at February 8, 2005 11:24 AMNo, I haven't told her. I forgot after I read it. But don't worry, we can be banished together. After Grandpa found out I had purple hair her said, "Yeah, and next she'll be chopping up bodies." (Meaning the Reynolds murder that rocked the Q.C.A.)
So I told my mom I wasn't going to the birthday party on Sunday.
Oh phooey. You have to come. Grandpa just has a weird sense of humor. It takes some serious getting used to. I still have problems sometimes. And he might not have realized how much that murder upset you... I'm sure he would have forgotten he even said it by Sunday. But we're celebrating a really important birthday for him. And Elena's birthday... and for me- Krianna's birthday. Pretty please come! And maybe I will get to see you Saturday sometime too. You work this weekend?
