Kedma

I didn't really like Kedma.

I rented it because it's a Hebrew film about emigrants coming to Israel after World War II. This is a portion of history I have taken great interest in and read many historical-fiction books regarding. My favorite, of course, is Exodus by Leon Uris.

The movie spanned a very short period of time. A day maybe. But it moved very very slowly. Coming to a conclusion on the point of the movie is difficult, and I don't consider that a good thing. In essence it shows the extremity of what the Jews had to go through to survive the war, make it to the promised land and then fight for their country. I've just seen it done better. Much better.

The acting was fair. Camera shots held too long with no substance. There was very little dialogue.

I gave it a 2 out of 5 simply because I DO like the topic, I DO appreciate that it was a Hebrew-made film AND because it did have some very poetic dialogue.
