My H to the O-O-Ohhs!

There was a time that I didn’t like girls. I was such a tomboy growing up. I wasn’t much into clothes or talking on the phone or God forbid going to the mall!!! I would rather climb trees, play war or catch crawdads.

Well, things change- slowly, but they do. I kept shreds of my enmity toward females through most of college. I mean, yeah, I had some girlfriends, but I never admitted their import to myself or anyone else.

Now in the dregs of my current life (that is so overdramatic and untrue, but I liked the way it sounded), I can finally say that I have some girlie girls that I just cannot live without.

Their names are Bitch Ho, Ho Bag and Skank Ho. At least I think so. We change them around so often and so unseriously that I don’t have it committed to memory. Yes, embracing the love of girlfriends means stomaching an endless amount of inside jokes that make me laugh til I cry, bang on tables and nearly fall to the floor. Hopefully, they will continue to have this effect until I am ancient.

Seriously, what would I do without them in my single, post-collegiate life? No perusal of St. Louis nightlife? No shoulder for crying over stupid boys? No trip to Ireland? No appreciation for The Sweetest Thing? No Meade parties and board games? Ack- no thank you!

So this goes out to my H to the O-O-Ohs! Thanks for putting up with me, my cat and my desire to play N64 all the time!

I LOVE the movie The Sweetest Thing!

Just recently someone said during the Hax chat: "Wish I had the SATC type of women friends" And Hax responded: "... Very few people have SATC-type friends." (SATC=Sex and the City, by the way.)

We're lucky that we do!

man, I wish I was with you guys in STL. although tomboy Fohty? dude, in college, I had to help you with the names of NFL teams. I see your tomboy and raise you a John Elway, a Michael Andretti and a Chris Osgood.

Chris who? Tomboy does not equate to sports fanatic in the slightest! Especially when you lived near the woods.

*shudders to think what might have gone on in them thar woods*

I hated the movie sweetest thing. Those girls were sluts.

Posted by: Suzanne at March 9, 2004 02:51 PM

Ouch- that's harsh Suzanne. They were players, true... but one can appreciate the movie without being an actual player.

Tanya... now really. We used to have moss fights. Crawl around in camoflauge. Attempt to flatten all the poison ivy in the world. Things like that.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of The Sweetest Thing myself, but mead parties, board games, and happy hours... bring 'em on!!

"Listen up, everybody!"

Which one am I? Skank Ho? I forget... Kristen, weren't YOU Bitch Ho? Oh well... who cares, right? :)

(hopes this isn't too bad for my Blog Comments debut)

Pishaw! Anything Goes in the Blog comments! Actually, I thought I was just HO! Who knows.

Now listen, I had no idea the Sweetest Thing would bring such contention. I didn't actually say you all liked it. I said that I now had an appreciation for it. Apparently I should have said Sex in the City, but I don't watch that show...

Posted by: Kristen at March 9, 2004 03:16 PM

Um...

Oh forget it. :)

Sex n the city is much better than sweetest thing. At least all the women in SATC had redeeming qualities, which I do not believe the Christina Applegate/ Cameron Diaz/that other chick trio have.

What Kristi?

Posted by: Kristen at March 9, 2004 03:29 PM

Oh, I was just going to say that I don't watch that show either. You guys know how I am with all of the TV shows that the rest of the "Ho" gang watches... :) I'm always the odd one out.

Posted by: Kristi at March 9, 2004 03:37 PM

you're the odd one out? dude, I'm in Brooklyn. New York. States away, dude.

Posted by: jenny at March 9, 2004 03:47 PM
