buy stuff

Apparently, Christians have a lock on being greedy and buying stuff this holiday season now that Wal-Mart is scrapping Happy Holidays for Merry Christmas. I’m so proud of my religion.

  1. God forbid we accept other religions and their non-need to buy things, or their true intentions with their holidays. How dare they ruin the commmercialistic nature of the Holiday Season! Forget them, forget them all. For buying things is truly the reason for the season! Although we might allow it if they’re buying Cardinals’ World Series Championship apparrel.

  2. Ugh, the Christians can keep Wal-Mart. Hi!

  3. And it listed the Catholic League as one of the main boycotters. So this year when the non-Christian religions boycott, are they going to go back? I personally think Holiday is much more appropriate.

  4. I have to agree with Kristen. “Holiday” is far more appropriate as there are quite a few people who aren’t christians who buy crap in droves during this time of the year. It seems much more a celebration of crap than a celebration of anything else.

We have all been lured into thinking that buying stuff for people is the one and only way to show some sort of appreciation for them. I think Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Confucius, Karenga, and maybe even Woody Allen would all rightfully (and quite understandably) vomit at the sight of what the holidays have commercially become.
